FNESC and the BC Ministry of Education have now finalized a Reciprocal Tuition Agreement, signed on November 6, 2009
The Agreement means that the provincial government will provide funding (retroactive to September of 2008) for all status and non-status students who live off-reserve but attend a First Nations school in BC. Recognition of the role of First Nations schools in the BC education is an important component of BC First Nations jurisdiction for K-12 on-reserve education.
